July 2012
Road trip! Drove north to Billings, MT. Stayed in hotel, played in the pool, drove around town, one destination was the LDS Temple. The next day drove to Spokane, WA. On the way exited several times to see small towns, one of which was Ramsay, MT. In Spokane, we stayed in a hotel by the river. We walked along the river, rode the tram, and had fun playing on the giant Radio Flyer. We spent a week at Wendy's parents in Richland, WA. 4th of July, canoeing, parks, hikes, running... It was great, and HOT! On our return trip home, we stopped at Regan's sister's house in Utah. Enjoyed visiting with their family.

The next week Wendy's dad had a heart attack. We were all surprised! He spent his 59th birthday in the hospital and had surgery two days later. We are all thankful he has recovered well.

Then it was off to Monticello, UT for our annual July visit. We had fun with family. Wendy, Brandon, and Jarrett ran the Pioneer Day 5K race and Trey ran the 1 mile kids race. Wendy placed 1st in her age division!

March 2012

Wilson Arch
(between Moab and Monticello)
Our big adventure in March was during Spring Break when we went to Utah to visit Regan's parents. We made our usual stop at Wilson Arch, right off the highway, for a quick hike. It's getting more dangerous as the kids are getting older... They want to run and jump and throw rocks. Maybe it's just me getting more anxious! We enjoyed our time visiting and Regan worked hard on many projects around their house. Wendy took the kids to Blanding to the Edge of the Cedars State Park. It's a really cool museum with lots of artifacts and pictures of Indian artifacts. Out back there are some ruins and the kids were able to climb down a ladder into one of the kiva's. There was also this amazing Sun Marker that not only told the time of day, but the month/season of the year, and astronomy events (archaeoastronomy). The next day we went to Hovenweep National Monument. That was really amazing! There were many ruins along a two mile trail in and around a canyon rim. Much more natural then Mesa Verde.

February 2012
Jarrett and Trey finished their school Basketball seasons.
Jarrett's 5th grade team didn't win a single game... a couple were nailbiters!
Trey's 3rd grade team only lost two and lost their first round game in the tournament. It was a close one!

On a hiking trail in Hawaii
Regan went to Hawaii for two weeks for work. He enjoyed the warm weather, time with friends and coworkers, and worked a lot. He will make one more trip out in March.

Brandon has started football training for 9th grade football.
Katie's preschool class was split and she has a new teacher, who is fantastic!
Wendy just keeps up with everyone...
January 2012
Another year underway...
We had some fun in the snow before Christmas. Jarrett built a sledding ramp on the driveway, Trey threw lots of snowballs (some above his head so they would land on his head), and Katie was busy with snow angels and "head-prints."
Wendy asks, "Katie what are you doing?"    Katie replies, "Making head-prints."

Regan went to Copenhagen for work. He had a great time!
